How long do your batteries last?

The amount of time that battery replacements last is measured in battery charge cycles. In general Li-ion batteries can be recharged between 300-500 charge cycles (0% to 100% is one charge cycle). For NIMH batteries you can get up to 800 charge cycles. But do not assume that NIMH is better. Both chemistries are good. Lithium ion battery's have the advantage of a slow discharge rate. NIMH batteries have a fast discharge rate. So even though you get more charge cycles on NIMH batteries NIMH burns through its charge faster than Lithium batteries. So depending on your application and usage generally speaking Lithium is better for most people. Also as the battery ages Lithium ion batteries hold their charge longer and are more forgiving then an old NIMH battery.

As an example if you were to charge your lithium battery from 1% to 100% every day then in about a year you would need to start thinking about replacing the battery. If on the other hand you charge it from 1% to 100% once a week then you would need to replace it in about 300 weeks (about 5 years). Again as the battery ages the discharge rate increases so these are mere estimates in our examples.

As always before you buy if ever you need any help choosing the right battery please contact us by phone, or text, or email.
